Rare Legal Books on Display
Sep 20th, 2012 by Shelley Brown
This year the Faculty of Law is celebrating its hundredth year anniversary and on Friday, Sept. 21st, they are launching their Centenary celebrations by having a gala dinner during Alumni Weekend.
In honor of these events the Weir Library has put up an exhibit of selected rare legal monographs from the Weir Special Collections Room. This includes early English, European, American and Canadian titles from the 16th through the 19th centuries. Each item on display is numbered and described in a specially prepared leaflet which you can find on the shelf beside the display case.
The exhibit will be available for viewing on Friday, Sept. 21st and will be on display through October 5th. The exhibit is on display next to the Holds Shelf and the New Books Shelf near the Service Desk.
A special thank you to Jeff Papineau and Amanda Nagyl for creating this enlightening and attractive exhibit.
Please do come and take a look at some of our legal treasures.
